Autogrill is continuing its collaboration with PizzAut to support the employability and autonomy of people in the autism spectrum.
Autogrill has renewed its collaboration with PizzAut Onlus to support the employability and autonomy of people in the autism spectrum and this year too is launching an initiative tied to sales of the GourmAut sandwich.
For every portion of the GourmAut sandwich sold from 15 July 2025 to 15 October 2025 in all Autogrill points of sale participating in the initiative, Autogrill will donate 1 euro to PizzAut to fund the purchase of a home. The proceeds will go to supporting PizzAut’s “Autonomous Living Gyms” (Palestre di Autonomia Abitativa), a project offering young autistic people facilities and activities in which to approach the experience of living independently.
An ad hoc communication campaign was produced to support the project. In an entertaining video, Nico and his friends impersonate rally navigators and invite drivers to stop off at Autogrill and choose GourmAut, to show how even a simple action can change the course of a journey.
The GourmAut sandwich is a symbol of sharing and inclusion and with its round shape can be cut into four portions. Its raw materials were specially selected to guarantee a genuine taste experience: high quality ham, courgettes, Robiola di Bufala cheese and dried tomatoes.
This initiative consolidates Autogrill’s commitment to social and workplace inclusion alongside PizzAut. The collaboration began last year with the hiring under secondment of Edoardo as a PizzAut waiter, followed by other activities including the “self-produced” campaign for the launch of the “GourmAut” sandwich initiative, which enabled us to donate €200,000 to PizzAut in 2024 to fund the purchase of a food truck for the association’s “PizzAutobus” project.
A journey that’s continuing. Together.
